u-PFM PEMS LIGHT
There was a need to measure exhaust flow from small gasoline and diesel heaters.
These heaters are in the range of about 5.5 kW. All available flow meters are suitable to measure from about 3- 500 L/min. The heaters produce an exhaust flow of about 200 L/min. Therefore an experimental exhaust flow meter was built.
The range is 0-700 L/min and calibrated with a MFC. The flow meter has an accuracy of < 2% of reading. In most cases better than 1%.
I have also added a function that integrates the flow, creates a log file with all actual values etc.
The density is selectable between Air Diesel and Gasoline.
There is also a simple interface to connect a portable analyzer. Then it will become a small PEMS system. Different fuels from different regulations can be selected and the data will be integrated and stored.
Calibration with MFC ( Small Flow 0-700LPM)
For PEMS a bigger flow meter is being constructed.
Depending on flow rate of interest can this tube use the same flow measure transducers etc. It is an experimental setup with a NOx sensor mounted.
This flow meter can also act as a quick check for CVS systems.
